How are roses like the ''Peace '' rose named?
When roses are bred commercially, specific hybrid varieties are isolated and selected for color, shape, size or fragrance. To identify the cultivars, they are typically named or branded.
The naming process is not specifically regulated (you can name it what you want), but newly created plant cultivars can be patented.
The names may be symbolic, like "Peace" or named in honor of a celebrity or location.
