Why does my rose not grow?

The canes are green and look fine but it doesn't have any leave buds growing. It's already late May and not a single leave grow. It's in full sun and I'm in Maryland zone 7. I bought this rose (Barbra Streisand rose) last year and it grew during summer and blooming.

I moved it just 5 feet away (still get full sun) and cut the big canes to 12 inches and all the small canes in March. I gave slow release fertilizer too. I almost give up now please help. Thanks.
Why does my rose not grow?
Maybe just leave it alone for the summer. Pile mulch around it and make sure it is watered.
Reply:Usually you would transplant while the plant is dormant. Maybe you started a little late. It may need time to re-establish itself. Remember that it needs to establish it's root system first. So I agree that you should be patient at this point. It just might take a little longer because of the transplant.
Reply:maybe you planted it in properly, just leave it alone 'til mid summer and try replanting it.
Reply:Its still too early to give up. It should start growing once the roots get re-established.

It might not give you any blooms till next season, because of the trans-planting.

Plant some geraniums around it so you can have some flowers in the meantime, aphids don't like the smell of geraniums, this will help the rose plant.

Be patient and don't over water.
