Which is the best month in northern India , to plant it's stem cutting( to grow another plant)
How should one cut the rose stem ,if one has to" plant" it to get the rose plant.?
Cut 610mm from a branch of this seasons' growth.Trim the green unripe wood from end.Dip the lower end in water, then into hormone rooting powder.

Plant firmly, straight into the soil near the parent bush.Keep moist and in about six months the plant should be rooted.

Generally speaking roses are grafted onto other species as cuttings do not have such a strong root system

This can be done during the dormant season, through to early spring.
Reply:Cut the stem at an angle so that the roots can grow out. Best time is spring and keep the earth moist.
Reply:have you tried just bending the stem over and covering it with dirt?? I've done this on several occasion's and it worked every time. take about 6 to 12 months for roots to form. then just cut away from mother plant, and plant it. you may have to pin the stem down to do this.
Reply:in spring you can cut off a piece of new growth and remove thorns and leaves from bottom of stem. Dip in rooting hormone for woody plants and then place in the shade in a bucket of mud the consistency of stiff mashed potatoes.(or stick a willow twig in the mud bucket with the rose stem in place of the rooting hormone) you will have roots by fall.... good luck
Reply:Well, the spring is your best bet, and you cut just below the joint, a little ridge in the stem. You cannot just plant it in dirt and expect it to grow. You will have to plant it in water for a few weeks, to get roots started, then, once they are strong, you can transfer it to potting soil, kept moist, in a warm place, It has to grow strong before you can plant it outside.

If you start it with the first spring shoots, by the middle of summer it should be ready to plant in the ground. Take great care of them, roses are fragile and need daily attention. Rose food and nutritious potting soil is recommended,
