How much dander do rose breasted cockatoos produce?
All breeds of Cockatoos and African Greys are two of the birds that have the most dander. I too have allergies to a lot of different animals, but birds don't bother me at all. I have an Umbrella Cockatoo, an African Grey and two macaws. I don't do any sneezing, but I have to dust a lot....
Reply:Toos and tiels produce a LOT of dander! I had one too crawl on me and it left a white mark on a dark blue shirt. If you have allergies, toos and tiels are not the birds for you.
Reply:cockatoos produce the most dander - if you have allergies I wouldn't suggest them as a pet. If your allergies are very mild you may be able to get away with an air cleaner to keep the dander down - but don't count on it.
