Where does the blue rose come from?

From what country does it originate from?
Where does the blue rose come from?
Not sure of the history, but Rosa 'Blue Moon' is meant to be the closest to true blue http://www.vanmeuwen.com/plant/67530

In reality, it's a kind of mauve... I have one.
Reply:They where propagated, grafted for many years to produce the array of bluish colors. I believe they where first introduced in USA, but I'm not for sure. Actually there is no true blue rose. Only lavenders, and purplish colors. Just like the Black Rose. There is no rose that is an actual Black, but I have seen one that was pretty darned close! Most black roses are a very dark red . Byee
Reply:Japan, i guess, because I've heard that Japanese scientists just created the first true blue rose!

You can read about it here
