How do I start rose bushes from a clipping?

You need to root it first, cut the clipping on an angle and let it sit in a glass of water, in about a week roots will start to appear, in about 3 wks your roots will be strong enough to plant in soil, use a good soil with fertilizer just for roses
How do I start rose bushes from a clipping?
I just got done doing this from one of my old neighbor's roses (their selling and I'm their yard maintenance ).

You'll need-

Large Glass Jars (Mayo, pickle, coffee ect)

Rooting Hormone

Sharp Clippers

Peat Pots (As needed.)

Hand Trowel

You find a small branch that is not going to have a flower bud on it and you clip it with sharp clippers. Then you dip it in water then in rooting hormone.

If you are doing this in your own yard go to a spot that is sunny and soften the ground and smooth it out. Then take the cutting and push it into the ground you just prepped. Water it a little then take a CLEAN glass jar (Pickle or Mayo or anything large like that) and cover the cutting pushing the jar firmly into the ground.

If you are doing this from someone else's yard get some of those peat pots and fill it with top soil. Bring a tray to carry them in, clippers, rooting hormone. Follow the same steps as before only in the peat cups. Then when you get home take the cups to the spot you want and dig a hole for them. Place them in and press the soil back around the peat cups firmly. Then do the same as before with the glass jars.

And there you have it. It will take a few years to get good root stock on it but its worth it.

Oh ya, if you see that its retaining to much moisture under the glass lift it up for about an hour then place it back.

If it's drought in your area water around the glass jars so the liquid can seep in.

In fall just before winter make sure the glass is firmly in place.
