How do you cross-breed plants or make a new hybrid of a rose?

My Dad is building me a greenhouse. Isn't that thoughtful?
How do you cross-breed plants or make a new hybrid of a rose?
It is also called 'Hybridization' . It is a skilled job and requires good knowledge of botany. I assume that you have it.

Otherwise what is mentioned below can be difficult for you to understand.

When you decide to cross breed a plant , the following things are to be noted ----

1) The two plants selected for the purpose must be compatible.

for example Rose can be cross bred with another rose .

Rose and Sunflower crossbreeding experiment will not succeed.

2 ) The two plants involved must have constant contrasting characters Such as flower color or size.

Crossing red rose with another red rose is pointless!

The procedure --

The two plants( say A %26amp; B ) involved are grown at a distance from each other .

When the flowers are in bud condition , the buds of flower of A are forced open and immature anthers are cut out ( This is called imasculation ).

These flower buds are coverd with paper bags to prevent accidental pollination from some unknown source .

The flowers of B are allowed to mature and then their pollen grains are collected in sterilized containers .

The flowers of A are then exposed by removing their paper bags and the stigmata ( Singular Stigma) of their flowers are dusted with the collected pollen from B .

Thus cross pollination is accomplished .

The fruits of A are allowed to ripen and seeds collected .

These seeds are allowed to germinate and results examined .

The plants that show desirable characters ( It is a matter of chance!) are allowed to be commercially exploited .
Reply:I wish I knew the answer. I think maybe you take a stalk, and crosscutting each across the stalk, then tape them together.

Who knows if that would work? Paul describes that in his "Letters of Paul (Epistles)", speaking of the gentiles being attached to the stalk of Abraham.
