Getting rid of rose bushes?

I want to get rid of some rose bushes, but eventually plant small trees in similar spots. What can I put on them that will not hurt the tree's development later?
Getting rid of rose bushes?
I would suggest digging them up rather than trying to kill them. As a matter of fact, if they are hearty bushes, dig them up and put them in a bucket with some water, then put them on Craig's list or Freecycle.com.. Lots of people would really like to give them a good home.
Reply:dig the rose bushes up by the roots.that should rid you of the unwanted flowers and start you off prepping for tree planting
Reply:Dig them out, you will have to do it sooner or later.

No matter what you put on them to kill them they won't rot and blow away. And they will look ugly until you do remove them. So there you are.

If you still decide to kill them round- up will do the job without hurting the future trees
