How do you draw a very simple rose?
You first have to use your eyes...Look...and as you look-see how the petals wrap around,..look out for what's in front-what's behind....pay attention to how lights pull forward-darks push back...and draw. Just use your eyes to SEE..sounds simple...but it's your key...that's how you let the drawing come off your fingertips..and onto your paper.

Roses are difficult--with so many twisting wrap around layers...just take your time--have an image--or a rose--it's winter-but my grocery has them for under 2 bucks...If you want to draw something--it's best to understand what it is you want to draw..it's how you learn. Most artists learn from each drawing they create--the lighting is different each time..it changes it..just remember-the only way to do art wrong--is to not take pleasure in it's creation.

Basically, you start from the middle of the petals and work your way out. It'll become simple once you get the hang of it.

Also, be sure not to clutter the rose petals and try not to make each one look the same.

I hope this helps.
