I have rose carpet dark slate leather what color walls take away from the carpet color, southwest decor?

We just bought a home in Tucson and it has rose carpet thru out in great condition. We have dark slate leather couch and chairs and want to paint the walls a color to go with both and hopefully take away from the carpet color. Any ideas? All walls are bright white and just doesn't work. Help me please!!

You should play around with the Sherwin Williams color visualizer. It is the best paint visualizer on the web, imho. I like how their color palette is laid out, I like that you can search by color family %26amp; color name, the "painted" rooms look the most realistic, and it suggests coordinating color schemes. You can literally spend hours:

I suggest a color like "bateau brown." I think it will harmonize with the rose %26amp; make the room look sophisticated - like you meant to do it. And the brown works well with the southwestern style.
Reply:Thanks to all of you for your comment. Just at a lose as how to make pink look less pink, pink is what my husband calls it not rose, lol. Thanks again!

Reply:Look at the creamy colors. I painted a main wall a festive mexican red. Then went with earth tones throughout. The other walls are painted in a very light creamy yellow. During the day when the sun is coming in through the windows, the walls give off a faint, happy, but warm, yellow. At night, it turns into a creamy color, therefore, adding warmth to the room.

Go to a hardware store and grab lots of samples from all categories of paint types. Take them home and lay them along the back of the couch and look at them for a couple days. As you look, you will know what colors NOT to use and that will help you define your search until you come up with just the right color to get the effect you want.
Reply:Rose can have either purple or orange undertones. I'd go with either a light periwinkle blue (purplish) or a very light turquoise (greenish), to complement/contrast the shade of the carpet.
