I have noticed this recently, since I uncovered the plants for spring. The roses are in containers not in the ground and some of the stalks are turning brown.I have sprayed them to prevents diseases but have not ever seen something like this. Please help!
The stems on my rose plants are turning dark brown and the new leaves are wilting, why is this happening?
It's tough to tell without seeing it. I work at a garden center and I deal with these problems all the time. Roses can require a bit of maintenance sometimes. My best guess is that it almost sounds as if though ur plants are root-bound. That happens sometimes when they're kept in a pot for to long. You could try to put them in a larger pot. If you live in a colder climate it could also be due to the cold of winter.
Reply:Take a piece off one of the roses and take it to one of your local garden centres the staff should be well versed as to how to treat the problem. Good luck
Reply:if it's not wilting from lack of water, then it sounds like a vascular disease... someone needs to look at the problem to properly identify the problem
