Where can I find Rainbow rose bushes, and do they grow in Virginia, also when would I plant it?

This is my first House and I would like to make the yard as pretty as I can with plants that required a lot of care. Because I have a back injury. I am looking for beautiful colors as well as being hearty. Please let me know when as well as what other plants and flowers I should consider. I live in Hampton,VA

Thank you kandy4u49t@yahoo.com

"The highly colourful flowers have been developed by a Dutch businessman who dyes each bloom in the colours of the rainbow."

So, no 'Rainbow' , unless you want to bother dying them ; D

As the above posters mentioned , the 'Knockout' series is good . Same goes for any of the 'Pavement' series , and the 'Explorer' series , from Agriculture Canada . 'Champlain' is an especially good Explorer.

Some other very good ones : 'Hansa' (fragrant!) , 'Stanwell Perprtual' , 'Snow Owl' , 'Buffalo Gal' , 'Nearly Wild', 'Roselina', 'Chuckles' (Looks like a Pink Dogwood flower, smells like Red Delicious apple), 'Heritage' , 'Graham Thomas', 'Kiss Me', 'Zepherine Drouhin' (fragrant!, nearly thornless climber, takes more shade), Rosa glauca (pink, with burgundy leaves), 'Seafoam', 'Betty Prior' (if own-root), 'Snowshowers', 'Baby Blanket'

Less than impressed with the 'Flower Carpet' Series, and most Meidilland roses ('Bonica', etc), but I'm in upstate NY. Might be OK in Virginia .

I'm not sure they actually grow that way but they definately are dyed that way. The link above will will explain it.

I've searched all thru the heirloom roses and antique roses and have found no such rose.

You can grow roses with multiple shades.

Here is a map of your planting zone

you are 7b to 8a you can pretty well plant most anything but be sure and check the hardiness zone first.

The Knockout Rose in the previous answer is the most carefree rose I know of. The blooms are not shaped like the typical rose bloom most people think of. They are more like a wild rose blossom but I love the Knockout roses just the same :) Most local garden center have the Knockout Roses.
