georgia should be playing usc and not illinois. thats why the rose bowl is the granddaddy but no one cares.
Why is the rose bowl afraid to put an sec team in?
The Rose Bowl is adamantly attached to having their Big Ten/Pac-10 matchup every year.
In my personal opinion, the Rose Bowl is the major reason we don't have a playoff in NCAA Division I football. They will never willingly give up the Big Ten/Pac-10 matchup.
Reply:no cuz the sugar bowl is the number one sec team which is lsu and since they were taken it usually goes to the number two if available and in this case the number two was eligible and even in the top five so of course they'd host the sugar bowl.. illinois definitely shouldnt be in there tho and missouri got snubbed
edit-- and no the rose bowl isn't just pac-10 vs big-10.. if the number one team from both conferences r available it is but if they aren't then they can chose if they wanna take the number two from the conference or take an at large.. since the bcs started in 98 (and games in 99) only 5 of the 8 times has it just been pac-10 big-10
Reply:The SEC already has 2 teams in the Bowl Series LSU National Championship and Georgia in the Sugar Bowl!
Reply:because the rose bowl is pac-10 vs big-10
Reply:It has nothing to do about being afraid , The Rose Bowl is Rich in History that is why it is called "The Grandaddy of Them All " , It is Traditionally played between a Big Ten Team vs A Pac Ten Team, That's it.
Reply:Because the SEC is too good to play in that shitty bowl!
Reply:you obviously know nothing about college football history....a typical SEC fan really
history of the Rose Bowl
PAC 10 vs BIG 10, it has always been that way, and will always be that way
