Does spraying soapy water on the leaves of rose trees/bushes cure the black spots on them?

I've heard it's a natural treatment. Will it harm them ? Are there any other natural remedies?

You will need either an anti-fungal spray (if chemicals are ok) or a sulfur based product (if chemicals aren't ok). Be sure to follow the directions carefully. Both are sold at garden centers.

You need to pick off affected leaves and dispose of them far away from your rose bushes. The fugus is spread through the air so leaves with black spot that drop off to the ground can still infect the leaves that are on the plant. Be sure not to transfer the particles of mold that may end up on your fingers to healthy leaves.

Also, avoid watering in the evening / night - so water doesn't remain on the leaves during the cool part of the day (which promotes fungus growth).
Reply:It isn't "soapy water" you're looking for. It is insecticidal soap, but that's for insects, not that black stuff. Don't put dish soap on your plants -- it'll hurt them. I know of no natural remedies for black spot, but there are many non-natural.
Reply:I've read that you mix a spoon of liquid soap and 2 spoons of baking soda with water in a spray bottle to kill fungus.
