How do you apply Epsom salts to a rose bush?

I can't find the article that I read this on.How much should I sprinkle on and then do I water it in and how often. My roses are the climbing ones with 2" red roses.
How do you apply Epsom salts to a rose bush?
Steve is correct. The formula I was given was to disolve 1 teaspoon of epsom salt in 1 gallon of warm water, and then water the roses appropriately. After that, sprinkle some epsom salt around the rose, about 1/2 to 1 teaspoon, and let it dissolve naturally with watering/rain. Only add the epsom salt about once per month, as you don't want to over fertilize the roses, as that can cause damage.
Reply:Thanks guys for answering. I've got the salts and have fed my plants. I also have Miracle Grow but even tho' MG has salts, it also has a lot of other stuff the roses probably don't need. Report It
Reply:Why not just use Miracle Grow Rose Formula? I use it once a month on all my roses, and it provides a much better balance of nutrients for the plants.
Reply:use mildly warm water and dissolve the epsom salts in the water. then water your roses. after that just apply a handful spread of epsom salts close the base of the plant and as you water and it rains it will continue to pentrate into the roses
