A friend of mine goes to university at the end of this month, she's previously seen black roses and totally loves them. I'd like to give her a couple of black roses when she leaves as a 'feel good' gift. I've already tried searching the internet to try and buy some but with no luck.
How do you make a black rose?
i did this experiment for science fair in 3rd grade. get a bunch of white roses and put them in a vase of water. add some type of coloring or ink to the water that's black. the roses soak up the water and in a few days, they'll turn that color. put sugar in the water or sprite, it helps keep the roses longer.
Reply:Jackson %26amp; Perkins sell rose bushes in the color black, but that won't do you any good now. I'd call every florist in your phone book and see what they have. They may be able to tint some for you or if not just tint the edges of white.
Reply:Theres probably a more complicated way then this, but get a rose and burn it till it's black.
Reply:i dont think you can actually get black roses as such.. they are selectively bred purple roses that are REALLY REALLY dark purple.. you could cheat and get some artificial silk roses.. you can get them in any colour you like
