My chile rose is making a funny mound of soil with its web what is it doing?

My Chile Rose Tarantula made a web across the soil in its cage, It then started getting under the web and picking it up along with a layer of soil as in a soil blanket type thing. It already has a mound of soil there, and it seemed to be adding more soil to the pile, it then started to patt it down.

I have no idea why it is making a little mound?

Is it preparing for anything? or is it just doing it for comfort?

It is my first tarantula so i dont know what to expect.
